rocky shoreline

09/2015, 57x38 cm, transparent watercolour on 90lb cold press Arches watercolour paper

among the most amazing sights i have encountered is this strange bush. in a setting of rocks and coarse gravel, next to the harbour brine, and wind, this small bush is thriving!

i thought i might call this picture 'voice of fire" or "song of the earth", but i don't think it needs anyone else's poetry.

the picture is very simple and so i hope that slowly building textural detail will convey the importance i place on it.
