watercolour on 140lb r.w.s. watercolour paper
i am fascinated by the traditions of northern european artwork. images
in my work often imply ideas or even function as full-blown symbols.
mostly i like making pictures, but i especially love pictures that lead
my mind into mysterious territory.
in this image i've assembled lots of items; elegant dried flowers, geometric
solids, a mirror, an empty bowl, a privacy screen. for a title, i chose
solace as the combined images suggest the
places we often go to find remedies for loss.
