this painting captured much of what I enjoy at seaside park.
i drew on site as much as i felt possible, and then i finished the image in the studio using watercolour.
despite my goal of making a painting, once i started applying the colour, i worried that the grandeur of the park would disappear.
i am still surprised at the result. there is an undeniable sense of energy and movement that emerged. and the buildings seem so small and isolated, with the natural world swirling around them.
