i enjoy the intense colour and warmth created by the rich hues of this image. The flat washes of colour heighten the contrast with the complex multiple forms that make up the monumental gates and the lush greenery that covers them.

the subject of a very substantial wall next to a small inviting dish is, i think, a valuable metaphor for the culture in this maritime city.
